Rain in southern Scotland and the far north of England this evening, this fading into the early hours of the morning. By the same time some more persistent rain will be crossing southern Ireland and reaching Wales and southwest England. A front in southwestern areas brings some rain early on Friday morning, although this tending to fade as the day progresses.
