Icy and sunshine
More cloud in west

Thursday
A cold start to the day with lots of sunshine. Snow showers around northern and eastern coasts at first. Watch for some ice on roads and pavements first thing this morning. The wintry showers may continue on eastern coasts this afternoon although for most central and eastern areas it should stay dry and sunny. Increasing cloud in the west bringing some drizzle into the far west of Ireland and western Scotland this evening. Feeling cold for all with highs at 3 to 5C.


Thursday Night
Cloudy and chilly this evening and overnight. Dry for most with a frost developing. Cloud thickens over Ireland and then western Wales, western England and western Scotland later in the night. This brings patchy rain and drizzle in Ireland and to the far west of the UK by the morning. Lows at -2 to 3C.
 


Friday
A front brings cloud and outbreaks of rain across Ireland and the west of the UK this morning. The rain turns to snow over the hills of northern England and western Scotland. Drier in eastern areas and breezy. Feeling cold for all. The afternoon sees the front becoming slow moving bringing further periods of rain and sleet through much of northern England, the Midlands, Wales and western parts of England. Brighter weather with showers following into Ireland. Highs at 0C in central Scotland, 2 to 4C in northern England, 5 to 7C in the rest of England, Wales and Ireland.


Saturday
Low pressure over the country on Saturday. Areas of cloud and some showery rain surrounds the low. Eastern Scotland and eastern parts of England are likely to be seeing most of the rain. Dry for many areas with some bright or sunny spells breaking through the cloud. Temperatures rising to 4 to 7C but 10C in southwest England.
