Heavy showers again
Rain into weekend

Thursday
Low pressure sits to the far south of England on Thursday and will bring heavy showers as well as longer spells of rain to some southern English counties as well as parts of Wales, perhaps bringing localised flooding. There is the risk of thunder and lightning too. Sunny spells and scattered showers through central and northern England as well as Scotland, these becoming confined to the west through the day. Sunshine and showers for parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland, heaviest towards the north and east. Highs at 12 to 16C.

Thursday Night
Heavy showers or longer spells of rain continue across south and east Wales as well as south and southwest England overnight. Showers look to clear towards the west across the rest of England with mostly dry conditions expected for Scotland also as showers clear here. Clear skies and plenty of dry conditions across Ireland and Northern Ireland but showers pushing in here towards dawn. Lows at 3 to 6C.

Friday
Possible heavy rain to start the day across the southeast of England. This should clear off to see sunny spells and showers. Through the day expected sunshine and showers across southern England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland while drier across the rest of England and much of Scotland. Heavier rain pushing in to southwest Ireland later on. Highs at 11C over eastern coasts of England and Scotland, 16C in the west.

Saturday
Rain will push from west to east across much of the country on Saturday morning. Heavier bursts are expected in the west and south in particular. Showers developing behind. Northern Scotland should stay mainly dry although some showers are forecast for the Northern Isles. Highs around 13 to 16C.
