Early sunny spells
Cloud increasing in west

Monday
A bright and chilly start to the new week for most areas with a strong northwest wind in northern and eastern parts. Cloudier skies for southern England, but son brightening up here. Overall it will be dry apart from an isolated shower in northeast Scotland. Through the morning coud increases in Ireland and western Scotland bringing some drizzle and low cloud onto coasts here. Broken cloud elsewhere, the best sunshine in the east and south. Highs at 6 to 8C.


Monday Night
Breezy and wet in much of Scotland overnight, most of the rain in northern and western areas. A risk of gales around the coasts here. Drier for England, Wales and eastern Ireland with cloud, most in the west. However rain in to northern England by morning. Lows at 1C in southern England, 6C in Scotland.
 


Tuesday
A weak front moves south on Tuesday bringing cloud and some showery spots of rain through much of the Midlands, Wales and East Anglia. Rather a lot of cloud further south but mostly dry. Brighter skies for northern England, Scotland and Ireland, although showers around northern and western coasts where there will be gales too. The showers falling as sleet and snow on hills. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.


Wednesday
A weak front front in western Ireland on Wednesday brings plenty of cloud to much of Ireland and western parts of the UK. Some rain and drizzle in places too, most in the far northwest of England, southwest Scotland and the northern half of Ireland. Cooler with showery rain in northeast Scotland. Drier in southern England, a few bright or sunny spells here, the best of them in East Anglia and the southeast. Highs at 5 to 9C.
