Cooler from Sunday
Coastal showers

Saturday
During Saturday a cold front moves rain southwards through Scotland and Northern Ireland, then turns patchy as it moves on across northern England and Ireland in the afternoon. Brighter, colder weather follows to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Dry with some spells of sunshine for most across England and Wales, staying mild in the south too. Highs at 9 or 10C in northern Scotland, 12 or 13C in southern England.

Saturday night
Overnight, cloud thickens across southern and central England and Wales with some patchy light rain and drizzle but many places staying dry. This gradually clears from the north introducing clear skies and cooler air. Further north expect clear spells with mainly dry conditions but coastal showers, these merging into longer spells of rain, sleet and snow across northern Scotland. Lows generally 1 to 4C with some places seeing a touch of frost across northern Scotland.

Sunday
A chillier start on Sunday and a cooler day for all. High pressure west of Ireland creates a north to northeast flow bringing showers to northern and eastern areas of Scotland and England, the showers wintry over the higher ground. Showers also affecting west Wales and southwest England, but drier elsewhere with bright, sunny skies. Highs at a chilly 4 to 8C.

Monday
High pressure remains over Ireland on Monday keeping conditions settled, though a weak front will bring some drizzle and cloud into northern Scotland. Brighter skies through southern Scotland, England and Wales as well as southern Ireland with a frosty start for some of these areas. The far south and southeast of England may be breezier with the risk of some patchy rain. Another cool day with tops at 6 to 9C.
