Thursday
Severe gales in eastern England early on Thursday morning as a deep area of low pressure clears away. There could be some rain and sleet in eastern England at first to, but this clears quickly. Brighter weather and lighter winds follow from the west, although there will be some showers on western coasts and hills. The afternoon stays cool with a brisk west wind and sunny spells, although still showery on western coasts and hills with these turning wintry as coler air arrives. Highs at 3 to 8C but tending to turn cooler as the afternoon progresses.


Thursday Night
A cool night with a brisk westerly wind affecting many arreas. There will be some showers, most in the west. More central and eastern areas should be drier with clear spells. One or two showers moving through these areas in the early hours. Lows at 0 to 3C.

 
 
 


Friday
Low pressure is to the north of Scotland on Friday with a showery west to northwest flow affecting all parts of the UK and Ireland. It will be feeling chilly with showers mainly in the north and west, some of them heavy and turning wintry on hills. Eastern parts of Scotland, England and Wales as well as eastern Ireland should be drier. Here there will be isolated showers but also some reasonable spells of sunshine. Highs at 3 to 8C.


Saturday
A ridge of high pressure builds through the UK and Ireland on Saturday bringing fair conditions and sunny spells. Thicker cloud and rain moves into Ireland as fronts edge eastwards and the winds increase. Highs at 2 to 6C.
