Wednesday
Showery outbreaks of rain passing through northern England and the north and west of Wales as well as parts of Cornwall and western Devon this morning. Other areas of England and Wales will be dry although sunshine will be limited. Showers across northern and western Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland will be turning increasingly wintry over higher ground. Accumulations of snow are likely in the highlands. Eastern Scotland and central and southern Ireland should be dry. This afternoon sees the threat of a few wintry showers over the high ground of Northwest England whilst snow showers continue in northern and western part of Scotland. A few showers also affecting northern and western Ireland. Cloudy skies in East Anglia and Southeast England as the front passes through with just a few spots of rain, but turning brighter in many western, central and northern parts of England and Wales. Highs at 4 to 7C.


Wednesday night
Rain drift into northern and western Scotland overnight and this also affects western Ireland. The rain turns to snow over the highlands. A scattering of showers along the coast of East Anglia and Southeast England. Other areas will be dry, some clear spells in the east but always more cloud in the west. Lows at 0C in eastern England, 7C in western Scotland. Lows at -1C in Scotland, 1 to 3C elsewhere with a touch of ground frost.


Thursday
A cold day ahead for Thursday. An area of rain will affect southern Ireland, southern Wales and the south of England, passing eastwards through the day. Dry conditions across central and eastern areas although rather cloudy. Further rain and showers affect western Wales and Northwest England with these falling asleep and snow at a higher ground. Snow showers will also affect the west of Scotland and parts of western Ireland. Eastern Ireland should be dry and bright. Highs at 3 to 5C.


Friday
Low pressure over southeast England on Friday. Rain and cloud through much of England and eastern Wales as well as eastern Scotland. There could be some sleet and even some snow on the leading edge of the rain area over high ground of southern England, the Midlands and northern England. Western Wales and southwest England are going to be cold but dry. The best sunshine in Ireland and western Scotland. Temperatures at 3 to 5C in the west, perhaps to 7C on eastern coasts.
