Saturday
An area of low pressure remains over the southwest of the UK through Saturday. This brings another cold day. Plenty of cloud and periods of rain across much of eastern and northern Scotland as well as parts of northeast England. Further areas of rain and showers affect western and eastern Ireland and the far south and southwest of England. Snow affects the Grampians with snow showers affecting northern Scotland too. A cold day with high temperatures at 4 to 6C for many, milder at 7 or 8C in coastal areas.

Saturday night
An area of rain arrives from the North Sea through Saturday evening spreading into eastern Scotland and northeast England. This later spreads into the Midlands, falling as snow over higher ground. Patchy light rain and showers affect western Ireland, the far southwest of the UK and northern Scotland. Otherwise it stays dry over night with clear skies for many allowing temperatures to widely drop to -1 to 2C. Milder in coastal areas at 3 to 5C.

Sunday
Pressure is expected to be staying generally low through Sunday. This brings cloud and periods of patchy rain to eastern England, most of this fairly showery in nature. An area of more persistent rain affects northern Scotland, this perhaps heavy in the east. A foggy start for central and southern parts of England as well as over Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland. This slow to clear in places. Drier through southern England and Wales. Cloud thickens over Ireland with rain spreading in from the southwest through the late afternoon. Highs at 3 to 7C, mildest over southwestern parts of Ireland and the UK and in East Anglia.

Monday
Low pressure remains dominant through Monday. There are likely to be two main areas of rain during the day: one over southern Ireland, southern England and Wales; another area affecting Orkney, Shetland and the far north of Scotland, this turning wintry in places. Elsewhere it should be dry with some bright or sunny spells. A further area of rain moves into eastern parts of northern England and Scotland later. Staying cold for all. Highs at 2 to 7C.
