Monday
High pressure stays over the UK and Ireland on Monday. Fog in the morning in southern and central England and Wales may be slow to clear. Where it does clear it should be dry with a few bright spells. Thicker cloud across Ireland, Northern Ireland and many regions of Scotland where there will be some patchy rain and drizzle in places, wettest in the west. A touch of frost in central England and Wales in the morning. Highs 5 to 9C, but colder where fog persists.

Monday night
Most places will be dry overnight as high pressure stays in charge. Areas of low cloud and some fog reforming in low lying areas, particularly central regions of England and Wales. A little drizzly rain moves across northern Scotland and the Northern Isles where a westerly breeze will be strongest. Little wind for many places. A slight easterly breeze near southern coasts. A touch of frost in some inland areas if skies stay clear. Lows -1C to 4C, milder near coasts.

Tuesday
High pressure centres over England and Wales allowing for dry and settled conditions for most. After a chilly start in the south with fog patches, expect broken cloud with some sunny spells about for many, typically best toward eastern regions. Patchy light rain or drizzle again affecting northwest Scotland and far west of Ireland. Light winds for most places. A southwesterly breeze in northern areas. Generally mild, highs 6 to 9C.

Wednesday
High pressure stays to the south of Britain whilst an area of low pressure moves closer to northern Scotland with time and fronts drift in from the Atlantic. A dry day for most although patchy rain developing for western Scotland and northwest of Ireland, turning heavier here later in the day and advancing further south into the night. A few spots of rain during the day for western hills in England and Wales on a westerly breeze. Fairly mild overall, highs 7 to 10C.
