Thursday
A breezy and cooler start to Thursday morning for many. Showery rain and cloud in eastern England at first, quickly clearing. Then becoming much brighter for much of England and Wales although showers affecting northwest England, these falling as snow over the hills. Heavier and more persistent showers for northern and western Scotland this morning, again these falling as snow on hills and slowly slipping south into this afternoon. Much of southern Scotland should be staying dry and bright although breezy. England and Wales as well as Ireland are mostly dry and bright this afternoon ahead of rain passing into southwest England later. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 11C in southeast England.

Thursday Night
Snow showers for northern and western parts of Scotland tonight as an area of rain crosses southern areas of England. Dry for most other areas with some clearer skies developing. An odd shower affecting western hills. Lows at -6C over the snow fields of central Scotland, 1C in mid Wales, 5C in southern England.
 

Friday
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Friday with a cool to cold west to northwest flow affecting all areas. There will be further snow showers in northern and western Scotland, even to low levels, as well as around the coasts of northern and western Ireland. Morning rain and cloud gradual clear the far south of England with scattered showers following to Wales and southwest England. Further east it should be drier and brighter with some good spells of sunshine. Highs at just 2C in northern Scotland, 8C in southeast England.

Saturday
Low pressure stays to the northeast of Scotland on Saturday. This brings a cold day to all with the wind bringing a significant wind-chill. There will be some wintry showers, mostly in the north and west with snow at low levels in Scotland, perhaps merging to some more prolonged spells of snow over the hills at times. Generally bright and dry in more central and eastern areas. Highs at 4 to 7C.
