UK Forecast - October 21, 2021
Becoming milder
Turning unsettled

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds across Ireland and the rest of the UK on Friday. It stays cool throughout the day with broken cloud and sunny spells for many. It should be largely dry, though showers are likely to be pushed in across western regions, along with some patchy, light rain down eastern English coasts as a weak occluded front slides south here. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, 12 or 13C in southern England.

Friday Night
A largely dry night with increasing cloud cover expected from the north and west. Still the risk of showers affecting western and southern coasts and hills. More persistent rainfall pushing in to far western regions of Ireland and the Western Isles through the early hours. Lows at 3 to 7C.

Saturday
The ridge of high pressure remains over much of England and parts of Wales on Saturday with largely dry weather here with best of the lasting sunshine across the southeast. However, winds will pick up with cloud cover increasing from the west. Meanwhile, rain spreads eastwards across Ireland with patchy bits and pieces of lighter rainfall expected through western parts of England, Wales and into Scotland. Highs at 11 to 14C.

Sunday
On Sunday morning expect heavier spells of rain across Scotland as well as western parts of England and Wales for a time. Drier elsewhere. Rain clearing Ireland and Northern Ireland with sunshine and showers to follow. Into the afternoon the rain turns patchy as it tracks east, the far southeast staying largely dry throughout the day. Sunshine and blustery showers to follow. Highs at a milder 12 to 17C.
