Becoming milder again
Rain in northwest

Wednesday
Snow showers over northern and western Scotland as well as the hills of northwest England tend to fade through the morning before a band of heavier, more persistent rain arrives over northwest Ireland, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland. Drier and brighter across much of England, Ireland and Wales as well as northeast Scotland. Breezy and feeling cool, highs 4 to 8C.


Wednesday night
A west to southwesterly breeze affects the country, with generally milder air wafting in from the Atlantic. Areas of rain for Scotland, heaviest over mountains in the west. Drizzle and low cloud for western England and Wales. Dry with variable cloud for the Midlands and southeast. Lows 3 to 6C.
 


Thursday
Low pressure to the north brings rain to western Scotland. A risk of some rain also affecting the far south and southwest of England. Cloudy with patchy rain in Wales and northwest England. Dry with sunny spells in eastern England. Highs of 6C in northern Scotland to 8 to 10C everywhere else.
 


Friday
A mild southwesterly wind affects the country with fronts passing eastwards. A cloudy and windy day with rain spreading from west to east, heaviest in the west. Sunny spells and showers follow from the west. Feeling milder for all with highs ranging from 8C in northern Scotland to 12C in southern England.
