Windy with showers, rain and sleet, most in the west

Good morning,

It's a breezy day ahead with heavy showers, most of them in the west. More persistent rai in Scotland and western Ireland. A risk of the rain falling as sleet and snow over the high ground of central and western Scotland. Tending to be drier to the east with some bright or sunny spells here.

This afternoon is very windy with widespread gales in England, Wales and Ireland with gusts over 50mph on western coasts and hills. More persistent showers and rain in Ireland as well as western parts of northwest England and southern Scotland. Further snow over the hills of Scotland. Windy tonight and turning colder. There will be showers, some of them wintry over the hills of Wales and northern England. Further snow showers in northern Scotland, perhas turning to more persistent snow.
