Good morning,
A cool start to the day for most on Monday with rain affect northwestern parts of Scotland, northern England, southeast England and western areas of Ireland. A band of rain will move from the southwest across much of Ireland, into southern Wales and the southwest of England through the morning. Rain clearing elsewhere with the exception of the far northeast of Scotland.
The band of rain will continue to edge northeastward through the afternoon reaching north Wales, Northern Ireland and northern and eastern parts of England by the evening. Behind this band of rain will be a mixture of sunny spells and showers. Showers may merge over western coastal areas to give prolonged spells of rain. Staying dry but cloudy over Scotland. High temperatures will reach 6 to 10C.
Rain will persist over eastern England and western coastal parts of Ireland, Wales and England through the evening. Some sleet or snow may affect higher ground in the Lake District and over the northern Pennines.
Have a good day! Claire
