Very unsettled weather for the next few days with outbreaks of rain and high winds

Very unsettled weather is expected over the coming days as the UK and Ireland sit right under the jet stream. Low pressure systems will bring plenty of rain as well as high winds to many places. The heaviest rainfall is expected in the west. Temperatures will be mild for the time of year across southern areas. Through next week high pressure looks to build to being calmer yet cooler conditions for a time.

Monday 02/11/20
A windy day on Monday. Wet with rain across much of England and Wales initially before the rain clears Wales and central England through the morning. Rain will clear the south and southeast of England later on. Sunny spells and showers behind. Meanwhile, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland will see strong winds, gales in places, as well as blustery showers, these merging into longer spells of rain at times. Drier further east across these areas. Mild for much of the day across southern and southeastern areas but cooler air moves across the country and by the end of the day and max temperatures will be around 7 to 15C.

Tuesday 03/11/20
Winds slowly start to ease across the country on Tuesday. A bright northwesterly flow develops with plenty of dry conditions towards the east. Frequent, blustery showers affect northwestern coasts and hills of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland as well as over northwestern parts of England and Wales. Further south, an area of patchy rain moves eastward across Wales and south England. High temperatures at 8 to 12C.

Wednesday 04/11/20
A ridge of high pressure builds from the west across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. A weak front passes from north to south across the country bringing cloudy skies and the slight chance of light, patchy rain as it passes through. Drier and brighter conditions before the front and behind. High temperatures range from 8 to 11C.

Thursday 05/11/20
High pressure remains across the country on Thursday, centred over Ireland. Expect some morning mist and fog patches which could be slow to clear. Where they do, the day should be dry and bright. Breezier in northern Scotland as well as across southern English coasts where there look to be scattered showers about too. Temperatures around 7 to 11C.

Friday 06/11/20
High pressure remains bringing a mostly fair day again although there is the risk of a weak front pushing down the country bringing cloud and patchy rain at times, however confidence remains low at this time. Temperatures at 8 to 12C.

Saturday 07/11/20
Saturday could see high pressure move east allowing low pressure to move up from the south. Becoming more unsettled to the west but staying mostly dry and fine to the northeast. Highs range from 7 to 12C.
