A cold night ahead

Sunday
A very wet morning over parts of central and southern England as well as Wales this morning. The risk of flooding in places. As rain clears east through this morning and this afternoon a strong, cold northerly wind will be developing, with gales in places. Brighter weather in Ireland and the west of the UK will be spreading east behind the rain with good spells of sunshine. Some showers affecting central and eastern Scotland as well as parts of northeast England. A cool day at 10 to 13C.


Sunday Night
A cold night ahead with with skies clearing. There is a risk of isolated showers in northern and western Scotland. Other areas will be dry and are going to be turning cold. There is a risk of a widespread ground frost over parts of central and northern England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Lows near 2 to 5C but 7C on coasts.
 


Monday
High pressure remains over the country on Monday. A cold start but then lots of sunshine and dry weather ahead. Some showers affecting northern and western Scotland. Little changes into this afternoon with more sunshine for many and just a few showers in western Scotland. Temperatures reaching 12 to 15C.
 


Tuesday
High pressure drifts into central Europe on Tuesday but a ridge is maintained across the UK and southern Ireland. Lots of sunshine in England, Wales, southern Ireland and the east of Scotland. Increased cloud and winds in the rest of Scotland and the north and west coasts of Ireland. This cloud bring rain and drizzle, turning more persists as the afternoon moves on. Highs at 14C in western Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
