Rain in western areas but drier in the east

A fair morning in eastern parts of the UK with some bright or sunny spells. Thicker cloud in the west with outbreaks of rain, this heavy in parts of Wales and northwest England. Showers in western parts of Scotland and the west of Ireland with eastern areas tending to be drier.

The afternoon sees some spots of rain in central and eastern parts of England. The more persistent rain remains in Wales and western England with some mist and fog on western coasts and hills. Heavy showers or longer spells of rain in western Scotland. Outbreaks of patchy rain in Ireland.

Tonight may become very wet in central and northern England as well as north Wales. Further rain in southern England, slowly clearing east. Fair in western areas of the country with soe showers in western Ireland and western parts of Scotland.
