Wintry showers Scotland, snow to increasingly low levels

Good morning,

A series of fronts will trail across south & south-western Britain and also across Ireland today resulting in some persistent rain, although this may fade at times.

Strong to near-gale force westerlies for the English Channel today, but fairly light winds in central Britain.

A chilly north-westerly flow affects northern areas, with brighter skies, but some showers, mostly affecting the north & west of northern Scotland, with snow and hail over the mountains.

Snow showers will become more frequent into this evening and overnight for the far north, with snow falling and lying to low levels. Bands of wintry showers will also extend down the Irish Sea into north Wales, perhaps north-west England.

Today's top temperatures may reach 13 or 14C in the far south-west, but for many it will struggle to reach 10C, and in Scotland nearer 6 or 7C.

Have a great day.
Garry
