Morning Call - June 09, 2019
Sunshine & showers
Brightest in the west later

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 9th June 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mixture of sunshine and showers for the UK and Ireland today. Heaviest showers for eastern Ireland, northeast Scotland and the southwest UK. Brightening from the west later.

Good morning,

A mostly dry and bright start to the day across the country though there will be a few isolated showers for southwestern England, Wales, southern and western parts of Scotland and southwestern Ireland. Showers may be rather heavy in southwest Ireland.

Showers will become more frequent and spread to the north and east through the morning. They will merge to give heavier spells of rain for Ireland, southern parts of England and Wales and across the north of Scotland.

Through the afternoon heavier showers will become confined to eastern parts of Ireland, the far northeast of Scotland and central and southern parts of England. Elsewhere will see a dry and bright afternoon with high temperatures of 20C in the southeast of England. More widely we'll see highs at 13 to 18C.

Through the evening showers and rain will ease for most away from the northeast of Scotland. A separate area of heavy rain will move into the far southeast of England later.

Have a good day!
Claire
