Wet for England and Wales, drier in Scotland

Good morning,

Low pressure is going to be bringing an area of rain across much of central and eastern England as well as Wales this morning. Some heavier bursts here and there, notably northeast England and parts of Wales. Drier weather along the far south coast of England.

The rain band edges north through the afternoon into the rest of northern England, with some heavier bursts passing west through Ireland. Some heavier, thundery showers or rain may develop in southwest England too. Scotland should be dry with broken cloud. Drier for the eastern Midlands, East Anglia and southeast although an odd heavy showers can't be ruled out here.

Tonight sees the rain in northern England as well as the south and east of Scotland. Patchy rain in north Wales too, with damper weather affecting eastern Ireland. Drier in central and southeastern areas of England. Increasing winds in Scotland and eastern Ireland.
