A chance of early drizzly showers for Cumbria, then patchy rain arriving here by evening. Highs 18 to 22C Midlands & south; 13 to 16C north/west; just 10C northern Scotland.
Thursday night A weakening cold front continues to drift southwards across England, Wales and Ireland overnight, but little more than a zone of cloud and a few local spots of rain. Skies will clear from the north, and temperatures will fall low enough for a touch of frost in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and perhaps the far north of England by dawn. Local fog patches possible inland. A fresh northerly breeze around coasts. Lows 8 to 12C southern England & Wales; 0 to 5C northern Britain & Ireland.
Friday High pressure will be centred to the west. Remnants of a front brings cloudy skies to southern England, but breaking up in central areas to leave plenty of sunshine for many places. Chance of a shower near the Dover Strait. Variable winds: a brisk easterly breeze near the English Channel, westerly in Scotland. A few showers for northern Scotland. Temperatures cooler than midweek, 16 to 19C south, 13 to 15C northern England & Wales, 11 to 13C Scotland & Northern Ireland.
Saturday Fair weather for much of the country with high pressure extending across central Britain. Early fog patches clearing to give a good deal of sunshine. A westerly breeze is likely to bring cloudier skies and spots of rain to western Scotland. A fresh easterly for English Channel coasts. Chilly in the morning, a slight frost in rural areas. Highs 15 to 18C in central-southern England, but nearer 12 to 14C toward the north & west of Britain and Ireland.
