Warm south & east
Wet north-west

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 26th September 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Gusty winds north-east

Good morning,

High pressure is centred over southern Britain. A fair day for the south & east of England & Wales with plenty of sunshine.

A brisk west to southwesterly airflow influences northern regions, and fronts trail across Scotland, bringing a persistently wet day to western Scotland. A little rain on and off for Northern Ireland and north-west England.

Some cloud breaks will occur to the east of the Highlands and Pennines, where winds will be very gusty, but it will be locally warm with a foehn effect allowing temperatures to nudge 20C in Aberdeenshire.

Today's top temperatures will be across central-eastern England - a humid 20 to 22C. Around 16 to 18C for Wales and northern England, also Ireland. Nearer 12C where rain persists in western Scotland.

Have a great day.
Garry
