A return to more mixed and cooler conditions for most from mid-week

Conditions stay mostly dry, sunny and very warm for Bank Holiday Monday but this changes from mid-week with the return of a westerly flow once. Our weather will become more mixed once again with showery outbreaks of rain at times. Temperatures will feel much cooler as well, particularly towards next weekend with the arrival of a northwesterly flow for a time.

Wednesday 28/08/19
Fronts edge east across Ireland and the UK on Wednesday. This triggers some heavy bursts of rain in Northern Ireland and across Scotland. Showers developing over northern and central England and Wales too. Brighter conditions follow to the west for much of Ireland and later for western parts of the UK. Highs near 26C or 27C in southeast England, 15 to 24C for most.

Thursday 29/08/19
A ridge of high pressure briefly builds on Thursday bringing sunny spells and mostly dry conditions across the UK for much of the day before another area of low pressure brings outbreaks of rain and gusty winds to Ireland. This moves into Northern Ireland and western Scotland through the afternoon and may bring showers to northwestern parts of England and Wales later. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Friday 30/08/19
A westerly flow on Friday brings a mixture of broken cloud, sunny spells and outbreaks of rain. Rain most prevalent over western parts of Ireland and Scotland. The best of the sun over central and southern England. High temperatures at 16 to 23C.

 
 
 

Saturday 31/08/19
A west to northwesterly flow continues on Saturday bringing further mixed conditions. Showers and outbreaks of rain over Northern Ireland and the northern half of the UK. Drier and brighter to the south. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Sunday 01/09/19
A cool northwesterly flow looks set to continue on Sunday. A brighter day on the whole with showers less frequent than on Saturday but still focussed over the northern half of the country. High temperatures at 14 to 20C.

Monday 02/09/19
Monday looks set to continue much the same as Sunday with a northwesterly flow bringing mixed conditions. Scattered showers over the northern part of the UK, drier and brighter to the south. High temperatures at 13 to 20C.
