Temperatures increasing through the second half of the week
There will be a slight dip in temperatures on Monday and Tuesday before they start to rise again from Wednesday onward. It will feel warm by the weekend with most areas reaching double-digit temperatures that are well above average for the time of year.

Wednesday 20/02/19 High pressure stays over the south and east of the UK on Wednesday while low pressure remains to the northwest. A cloudy day for most with the exception of the southeast of England. Light rain and drizzle will affect most of the country too with the exception of central and southern parts of England. Heavier rain for western Scotland and northwest England. Breezy in the north and west. High temperatures around 8 to 13C.
Thursday 21/02/19 High pressure builds again on Thursday allowing for a brighter day for much of England and Wales. Some mist and fog patches could affect Wales and southern and central England first thing. Any morning rain over Scotland and Ireland should ease with the exception of the western coast of Ireland where light rain may persist through the day. Overcast for much of the day for Ireland and Scotland. Staying breezy in the west. High temperatures at 11 to 15C.
Friday 22/02/19 High pressure shifts to the east bringing the UK and Ireland into a southerly airflow. Cloud will build from the west through the day bringing light rain to Ireland and western parts of Scotland through the morning. Staying dry for most areas and bright in the southeast. A breezier day for most areas. Highs at 12 to 16C.
Saturday 23/02/19 A south to south-southwesterly air flow persists on Saturday bringing a bright day to eastern areas, cloudier in the west. A band of light rain will affect western parts of Ireland and northwest Scotland throughout the day but it will stay dry everywhere else. High temperatures at 10 to 15C.
Sunday 24/02/19 The UK & Ireland remain in a southerly air flow through Sunday. It will be a dry day for most and brighter too for many areas. Some cloud may persist over the northern half of mainland Scotland. High temperatures at 9 to 14C.
Monday 25/02/19 Monday will see cloud building from the west through the day and some light rain or drizzle for northwestern areas as a weak trough grazes the northernmost part of the country. Highs at 9 to 12C.
