Morning Call - September 05, 2022
Warm and humid
Thundery rain southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 5th September 2022
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Rain clears north across Scotland

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred southwest of Ireland, rotating slowly but with little relative movement in the next few days. This means we will see few days of similar weather, with heavy rain or thundery showers in the forecast this week, coming in on humid south to southwesterly winds.

One batch of rain moves across Scotland this morning, breaking up to give sunnier spells from the southwest over the Highlands. Eastern Scotland stays dull with onshore winds off the North Sea.

A few showers possible over northern England and Wales, but much of the day looks dry and bright here. East and southeastern areas should also stay mainly dry.

A risk of thundery rain increasingly moving into south and particularly southwest England as the day progresses, advancing into Wales later in the day too.

Today's top temperatures will reach a muggy 25C in central-eastern England, 22C for the west and northern areas, around 19C in the far southwest, also Ireland.

Have a great day.
Garry
