Fair and warm east after morning mist and fog, cloudier with some rain and drizzle in the west

Mist and fog patches early on Friday morning especially in central and eastern areas. This should be clearing to leave the morning and afternoon dry for most with some bright or sunny spells. Thicker cloud western Scotland and eastern Ireland as well as the far west of Wales and southwest England with periods of rain and drizzle here. rather murky too with some fog on hill and coasts. Brighter in western Ireland.

Little changes this afternoon. Drier in central and eastern areas with the best of any sunshine here. Cloudy with mist and some spots of drizzle and rain in western Wales, more persistent rain in central and western Scotland. Fair in Ireland, sunny spells.

Mostly dry with some clearer skies overnight. Mist and fog patches developing in much of eastern Wales and England. Patchy drizzle in western Wales and western Scotland.
