Issued: 0530hrs Friday 22nd March 2019
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloudy north and west with some rain, very mild and brighter south and east

Good morning,

A fair amount of cloud again over most of the UK. The thickest of the cloud over more northern and western areas, with some bright or sunny spells in East Anglia and oarts of southeast England. Rain and stronger winds in western Scotland and the west of Ireland.

The front brings showery outbreaks of rain through much of Scotland and into northwest England, western Wales and eastern Ireland. Turning drier and brighter in western Ireland and western Scotland. Drier for the rest of England with some bright spells in the Midlands, eastern and southern England. Low cloud and drizzle affects western coasts. Very mild again in England and Wales.

Overnight it stays cloudy for much of England, Wales and Ireland with a narrow band of drizzle and patchy rain in Wales, central and southern England. Cooler, showers in western Scotland and northwest Ireland.
