A mixed start, then fair, then wet to end the month

A mixed month overall through October. There will be some dry weather in the south through the coming week, but then cold and unsettled at the weekend. Mixed again next week with the south being drier. Things should become dry for all into the middle of the month with some milder days and cool nights before low pressure brings more rain later.

*1/10/18 - 7/10/18*
A mixed start to the month. Dry in southern areas of the UK and mild too. Cooler overall in Scotland. Cold for all by the end of the week with the potential for rain for weekend.

*8/10/18 - 14/10/18*
A mixed week but mild overall. There will be rain at times, most in the north and west and it could be breezy too. Gales affecting western areas on a few days. Tending to be drier in the southeast.

*15/10/18 - 21/10/18*
Building pressure to the east bringing drier weather in central and eastern areas. Mild days with cool nights. Cloudier skies to the west with the risk of rain at times in western Ireland and western Scotland.

*22/10/18 - 31/10/18*
Turning more unsettled towards the end of the month. Low pressure passing from west to east. Rainfall increasing, especially in the west. Windy. Temperatures close to average.
