Local heavy afternoon showers in east
Good morning,
Bank Holiday Monday will bring a good deal of dry and bright weather, but there are some showers around too.
Light showers affect northern and western areas this morning, plus the remnants of patchy overnight rain over East Anglia is clearing off into the North Sea.
Central, southern and western areas will see broken cloud and sunshine. A scattering of showers will form through the day for eastern counties, some locally heavy bursts drifting toward the east coast late in the day with a risk of isolated thunder and lightning.
Today's top temperatures will reach 15 to 18C for central and southern areas, nearer 14C for northern England and central Scotland. Northern Scotland will be much cooler, barely reaching 10C around the Moray Firth, just 7C in Shetland.
Have a great day. Garry
