Rain in the west, sunshine and showers for most, feeling cool

breezy, bright and chilly morning for many. The northwest flow bringing some showers to northern and western Scotland as well as northwest England, north Wales and the northern Midlands. More persistent rain in the west of Ireland. The showers in northern Scotland also merging to longer spells of rain bringing wetter weather here.

This afternoon turns wet over western and southern Ireland as well as the far southwest of England. Further showers for northwest England as well as western Scotland. Showers or longer spells of rain in eastern Scotland and northeast England. The northwest breeze persists and it will be staying cool.

More rain tonight in the southwest as well as across southwest Wales and southwest. Some showers over eastern coasts and hills. Drier and brighter for other areas, the best sunshine in southern Scotland.
