Mostly dry and bright with sunny spells

A fair morning for most of the country. Good spells of sunshine, especially in England, Wales and southern Ireland. More cloud affecting Scotland and Northern Ireland, some patchy rain or showers in western Scotland. Colder for northern Scotland with some sunny spells here.

Staying bright through this afternoon with further spells of sunshine for most. An odd shower could affect the Pennines as well as the far west of Scotland. Generally though the day will be fine.

Increasing coud in Scotland this evening, and this spills into northern England and Ireland too. Some clearer skies in southern England and turning fairly chilly for many areas.
