Sunshine and showers, feeling cold again

Showers developing pretty quickly through this morning across much of England and Wales. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times over central parts of England and Wales. Further showers, some wintry in northern and wester Scotland. Elsewhere the morning should be mostly fair with sunny spells.

This afternoon brings a mix of sunshine and showers to most areas. Showers are likely to be heaviest in northern England and Scotland, a few thundery here. Elsewhere showers tending to be more scattered. Cloud increases in southern Ireland and southwest England later.

Rain in the far southwest of England tonight, turning cloudier in southern England too. Showers in western Scotland and parts of northwest England. Drier under clearer skies for most.
