Local light showers near Irish Sea
Good morning,
A ridge of high pressure extends across the British Isles today, centred toward the south-west. A fair day overall. Fronts approach the far north-west, which will then pass south-eastwards across the country into early Saturday.
Plenty of sunshine for much of the country, although high cloud will tend to thicken from the west. Wales, north-west England and northern Scotland are likely to stay rather cloudy, with a few drizzly showers possible. Rain develops for western Scotland and Northern Ireland this evening.
Winds will be a fresh north-westerly in eastern counties this morning, but tending to ease here. In the west, the wind will turn south-westerly and increase later.
After a chilly start, today's top temperatures will struggle to do better than 13 to 15C in central & southern areas, and 10 to 13C in north of Britain & Ireland.
Have a great day. Garry
