Morning Call - March 07, 2019
Strong winds and rain
Better west tonight

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 7th March 2019

Another unsettled day with rain, showers and strong winds

Good morning,

It's another unsettled day out there. Low pressure is in control and this is bringing more rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland this morning, the rain also affecting northwest England. It's not only rain, there is some sleet and snow over the hills in Scotland too.

Better for much of the rest of England and eastern Wales. Windy in northern and west Scotland, Ireland and the west and south of the UK. Heavy showers reaching the Midlands and most of northwest England. That leaves us with a mixed afternoon with rain and showers in much of England, Wales and Scotland. Probably better in parts of southeast England. Western and southern Ireland as well as the far northwest of Scotland are likely to be drier and brighter too.

Tonight is windy at first, but then these winds should ease. There will be showers in many areas of the UK at first, although Ireland should be drier. The showers fading away as the night progresses. Gales in the east, although lighter winds to the west.
