Morning Call - December 05, 2020
Staying cold
Further outbreaks of rain

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 5th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Low pressure stays close by today bringing further outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow to parts of the UK and Ireland. A drier and brighter day for western areas after early precipitation fades but staying cold for all.

Good Morning,

Outbreaks of rain and sleet this morning - these mainly affecting northern and eastern Scotland, Wales and the far west and south of England as well as eastern and western parts of Ireland. In between these areas of precipitation it stays dry with good spells of morning sunshine over the southern half of the UK and Ireland.

Showers and rain persist over northeastern parts of Scotland through the afternoon and later spread into the northeast of England. Showers persist too over western fringes of Ireland. Elsewhere it tends to be drier afternoon with good spells of sunshine developing for many. Staying cold though with highs at just 4 to 6C for many. Milder near the coast.

Cloud thickens over eastern areas during Saturday evening with further rain and sleet spreading into eastern Scotland and into the northeast of England. This spreads south into the Midlands later.

Have a good day!

Claire
