Wintry showers in Scotland, bits of showery rain elsewhere
Dry for much of England and Wales early this morning. However, a weakening front is bringing some showery bursts of rain across northwest England and the north and west of Wales. Brighter and colder weather arriving in Scotland and Ireland. Some showers in northern and western Scotland, these turning to snow on the hills.
This afternoon sees showery rain passing through the Midlands and southern England, then into east Anglia, but these will be fading quickly. The heavier showers in northern and western Scotland, again these falling as snow on the hills. A few snow showers at lower levels later. Showers, possibly wintry in northwest England and northern and western Wales.
Overnight further showers affect western coasts and hills, these wintry over high ground. More persistent rain in southwest England. Elsewhere it should be dry. A frost in Scotland and northern England.
