Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 14th March 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A showery start for many parts of the UK on Saturday as fronts edge eastward. Meanwhile a band of heavier rain along with strong winds arrives over western Ireland. This spreads eastward through the afternoon and into western parts of the UK. Staying dry for central and southeastern parts of the UK through the afternoon where we may see the odd spell of sunshine developing.

Good Morning,

A cloudy start for most across the UK and Ireland with showery outbreaks of rain clearing to the east from England and Scotland through the morning. Meanwhile, another band of heavier, more persistent rain, accompanied by strengthening winds, arrives to the west of Ireland.

Rain and gusty winds spread across Ireland and Northern Ireland through the afternoon and into western Scotland and the northwest of England. Staying dry for much of Wales as well as central and eastern parts of England with the best of any sunny spells for the southeast.

Rain edges further eastward into the UK through the evening while showery conditions follow to the northwest and north for parts of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Staying dry across much of central and southeastern England.

Have a good day!

Claire
