Cooler day in store, significant cloud cover for most and showery outbreaks likely

Good morning,

Expect the morning to be a gloomy and murky one, all parts of the British Isles will begin the day with some significant cloud cover, except for Northern regions of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Southern regions, the Midlands, Wales and most of Ireland can expect to see showers this morning, some maybe be quite intense and possibly thundery - northern regions remaining dry. Expect the morning to be cool, temperatures struggling to reach double digits for most, feeling especially cool for eastern coastlines and most of central Wales.

Similar story for the afternoon, the best of the weather can be expected for Scotland and north-west Ireland under clear skies. The cloud may break up slightly for some parts of the south coast of England and central regions of Ireland - but on the whole it will remain cloudy limiting temperature to only 10-13, even cooler along the east coast and for central Wales. Expect the showers to remain although they will lose their intensity by the mid afternoon. Tonight should see an end to most of the showers, we hold on to the cloud keeping temperatures on the mild side. Scotland and northern regions can expect clear skies and a cooler night.
