Rain in southeast later

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 14th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Showers or longer spells of rain in the north and west. Drier further east. Rain for south and southeast England later on.

In the morning, rain will clear southeast England to allow for dry conditions to develop for a brief time. Frequent showers, heavy for some, across western areas of the UK and Ireland as well as southern English coasts. Rain also affecting much of central Scotland during the morning.

During the afternoon, showers across western areas will continue, while rain over central areas of Scotland becoming confined more to the north and west. Later in the day rain will push up into central southern parts of England and spread across the southeast corner into the evening. A breezy day for all.

Rain will eventually clear the southeast corner through the early hours. Showers will continue to affect southern and western coasts through the night with drier weather elsewhere. Some clear spells about but expect temperatures to stay above zero.
