Showers and rain
Cold for all

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 4th May 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Heavy showers, longer spells of rain at times, feeling cold for all

An unsettled day ahead with lots of showers and rain. It is going to be feeling cold too. Gales affecting eastern parts of England at first this morning, but this wind should ease during the day. Broken cloud and some showers across western and northern areas this morning, these turning heavier. Dry in the far south of England, a few sunny spells here.

Further showers or longer spells of rain afecting much of Northern Ireland and northern England as well as north Wales and southern Scotland. A few showers in southwest England. Best of the driest and brightest weather in central and southern Ireland as well as the far south of England.

Overnight there will be showers at first. These should be fading away from many inland areas during the night, although continuing in the north and west. One or two of the showers heavy in these areas, drier in the east and south. Heavy showers could affect western Ireland.
