Severe gales, strongest in the north with rain and showers but drier south
Good morning,
And it is another blustery morning over most of the UK and Ireland. Severe gales are afecting Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England and Wales now with gusts f over 60mph. Low pressure is moving into western Scotland and this is going to be giving some heavy rain in the next few hours for western Scotland and much of Ireland. There's plenty of cloud in most other areas, just a few bright spells but also some thicker cloud and spots of rain across parts of the Home Counties and southern England. This afternoon sees the strongest of the winds clearing into the North Sea with the rain band across northern England and Wales as well as Cornwall, although only showery rain by then. Gales in Scotland with showers north and west, brighter in Ireland with some showers in the west.
Rain early and late in England and Wales tonight, winds becoming lighter. More gales in Scotland with heavy showers in the the west. Simon Email me at [email protected]
