Morning Call - December 26, 2020
Severe gales later in south
Heavy rain western Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 26th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Cloudy skies for most

Good morning,

Strong to increasingly gale force west to southwesterly winds will affect Britain today - the worst of the severe gales into the evening and night around the English Channel, damaging gusts 70-80mph in exposed locations.

Very wet in western Scotland today. Snow over the higher mountains. Murky and damp for western England & Wales, becoming wetter in the northwest as the day progresses. Drier and brighter toward the east and south of Britain.

Today's top temperatures up to 8 or 9C in the south, around 6C in the north, and then dropping cold for all into the night, leading to a colder spell in the days ahead.

Have a great day.
Garry
