Severe gales sweeping east, potential damage from the wind gusts

Good morning,

Severe gales with gusts of wind in excess of 70mph on western coasts this morning. The gales affecting Ireland, Wales and England. There will be rain associated with the winds with a heavy area of rain this morning across northern and western England, Scotland and into Wales and the Midlands.
 


This afternoon sees the winds continuing in much of England with rain still affecting many areas. Turning more showery as the winds ease in Ireland and the west and south of Wales and England. A cold day for all.


More wind and rain tonight, mostly focused in the east. Drier in Ireland and western areas tonight, although more drizzle and patchy rain arrives in Ireland later in the night.
