Scotland snow
Freezing fog for some

Snow for Scotland, freezing fog further south

From first thing expect snow for a time across the Central Belt and Lowlands before lower levels transitoning into rain. Snow also pushing across the Cairgorms and parts of the northeast. A mix of rain, sleet and snow across the Northern Isles too. Largely dry elsewhere though the odd wintry shower down Irish Sea coasts. Freezing fog could be an issue for some, otherwise sunshine across much of England and Wales. More cloud further north.

The afternoon sees the snow ease back across central Scotland with some sunny spells developing here. Showers continue to affect west Wales into NW England, otherwise mostly dry with sunny spells.

Overnight, on a more westerly flow expect a mix of rain and snow showers pushing on to western areas of the UK with rain showers also skimming southern English and Irish coastal counties. Dry elsewhere with clear spells. Another cold and frosty night with lows largely below zero.
