Morning Call - October 08, 2020
Rain UK
Drier Ireland

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 8th October 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Outbreaks of rain spread from northwest to southeast over most parts of the UK today. A drier day overall for Ireland though the odd shower could develop here and rain arrives to the northwest this evening. It will be windy to the south with winds at near gale force for English Channel coasts.

Good Morning,

It's a wet start to the day for many, and windy to the south, with one area of rain spreading from the northwest across England and Wales and another area of rain affecting western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Drier and brighter to start over much of Ireland and eastern Scotland. Through the morning rain clears away from Wales and northwest England though a few showers may develop here.

The afternoon sees rain clear to the southeast of England leaving a mostly fine afternoon for England and Wales. Winds ease too for many though stay strong to the far southeast. Further north, patchy rain spreads into eastern parts of Scotland. A mostly dry and fine afternoon for Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Staying fine and dry into Thursday evening for most though a new area of rain arrives to the northwest reaching into northwestern parts of Scotland and Ireland.

Have a good day!

Claire
