Rain spreads east
Heavy showers northwest

A band of rain spreads southeastward over the UK today while brighter conditions follow to the west over Ireland and Northern Ireland. Rain clears to the southeast of England later allowing for some brighter spells to develop here too. Showers, these locally heavy, affect northwestern areas. These fade into the evening as another band of rain, accompanied by strong winds, arrives to the west of Ireland.

Good Morning,

A front brings outbreaks of rain and gusty winds through Scotland and Wales and into northwest England this morning. Rain clears to the east of Ireland early on leaving a mostly bright and dry morning here with scattered showers to the west. Light, patchy rain affects the far southeast of England otherwise it's a dry start to the day across central England.

Through the afternoon, patchy light rain spreads to the southeast of England but it will stay dry here for many. Showers, some of these heavy, continue to affect western Scotland and winds stay strong too. The best of any sunshine will be over southern Scotland, northwest England and Wales.

Rain and showers fade into the evening for most, a few isolated showers persist over western Scotland. Cloud builds from the west through the evening too with an area of rain arriving over western Ireland. Winds pick up here once again too.

Have a good day!

Claire
