Cloudier west with drizzle and patchy rain, drier in the east

Good morning,

A complex day of weather ahead, but whatever happens you will need your coat! Firstly there will be snow showers in western Scotland throughout, these moving into Northern Ireland too. An area of cloud and rain will be affecting Wales, southwest England, eastern Ireland and Northwest England, turning to sleet and snow on hills. Dry in the east at first.

This afternoon sees the area of sleet and snow in Wales, the Midlands and northwest England, high ground seeing most snow but there could be some at low levels too. Becoming icy in the west. The sleet and snow passing through the east of England through the evening and then into East Anglia and the southeast tonight

More snow showers tonight in western Scotland and the north and west of Ireland. Dry and icy elsewhere.
