Morning Call - July 05, 2019
Rain NW Scotland
Dry & bright to the south & east

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 5th July 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Showery outbreaks of rain will affect northern and western parts of Scotland for much of the day. Dry and bright to the south and east.

Good morning,

It's a dry and bright start to the day for most us today. Cloudier to the northwest with some light rain or drizzle affecting northern parts of Ireland and western Scotland. This rain becoming heavier as the morning progresses and spreading eastward across northern Scotland and the Northern Isles. Cloud spreading across Scotland and much of Ireland too.

Into the afternoon and light rain and cloud will continue to edge slowly toward the southeast. The rain won't make much progress past the central belt of Scotland or the northwestern fringe of Ireland however. Staying dry for Ireland, Wales and much of England though the odd shower could flare up over the East Midlands later. Dry and bright to the southeast where high temperatures will reach up to 26C. Much cooler in the northwest of Scotland with highs at just 12 to 13C. More widely we'll see highs at 16 to 23C.

Rain easing into this evening though still affecting southern parts of Scotland. It will be dry and brighter to the north and south of this with some good spells of sunshine to end the day.

Have a good day!
Claire
