A cold front passing eastwards through this morning bringing rain to much of central, southern and eastern England. Some heavy bursts of rain developing along the front through the morning and afternoon with the chance of some thunder too. The rain band becoming slow moving in the southeast this afternoon and evening. Brighter to the north and west with sunny spells, but heavy showers affecting much of Scotland and Ireland, especially the west. The showers could be thundery. Breezy in Ireland and Scotland. Becoming fresher as the rain clears with temperatures at 15 to 19C, nearer 22C in southeast England.

Thursday Night
Clear skies and mostly dry weather overnight across much of England and Wales. Showers affecting central and western Scotland where it will also be windy. The showers could be heavy and thundery in western areas of Scotland. Further showers over the coasts and hills of Northern Ireland. Cloud increases later in western Ireland. Lows at 6 to 10C.

A ridge of high pressure over the south and east of the UK on Friday. Dry weather here with broken cloud and bright or sunny spells developing in the east. Low pressure north of Scotland give strong to gale force winds and rain across western Scotland, northwest England and Ireland. Low cloud and drizzle may affect the western coasts and hills of Wales and southwest England. The rain heavy at times in western Scotland. Tops at 24C in southeast England, 14 to 17C in Scotland and Ireland.

Fronts trailing through Ireland, Scotland and northwest England on Saturday. Cloud and rain along the fronts with drizzle affecting many western coasts and hills of Wales and southwest England. Drier, brighter and warmer in southern and southeast England. Fresher and breezier in Scotland with sunny spells and a scattering of showers. Highs at 25C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.
