Rain and wind across the southern parts of the UK and Ireland, showery north

Good morning,

Wet and windy weather this morning in southern parts of England, Wales and the south of Ireland. It's brighter and cooler to the north with the cloud breaking and some bright or sunny spells developing. The best sunshine in eastern Scotland and the far northeast of England.
 

Rain slowly clearing southern England during this afternoon. Rather cloudy but drier weather follows into most areas. Scattered showers in northwest England and the west of Scotland with some drizzle in western Ireland. Most eastern areas should be dry.

Becoming windy agai tonight with rain in the north and west.
